Xiaomi 12 Lite comes with Snapdragon processor, 64MP camera with 5G support

The Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone series has recently been unveiled in the global market since its launch in China in December last year. This lineup includes three models – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, it is rumored that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will soon be launched as the fourth and most premium model of this series. And now there is speculation that Xiaomi is working on another model of this lineup. A new listing in the IMEI database indicates that this model may enter the market under the name Xiaomi 12 Lite.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite model will be one of the proposed additions to the Xiaomi 12 series. It is expected that there will be a few more devices that will debut as part of this series. The Xiaomi 12 Lite handset is expected to hit the market at a very affordable price point and will be the cheapest model in the series. The new Xiaomi 12 Lite phone with model number 2203129G has appeared in the IMEI database and is codenamed ‘Taoyao’ or L9.

Incidentally, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will probably come with some basic features of the series, but some key components could be reduced to keep the price of this model low. As per the specification, it will have a 6.55-inch curved OLED panel, which will offer 120Hz display refresh rate. It will have a fingerprint reader powered by Goodix.

As for performance, the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8G+ chipset. The triple rear camera setup of the Xiaomi 12 Lite will include an ultra-wide angle lens and a macro lens with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. However, it is known that these lenses will not have support for optical image stabilization (OIS). Xiaomi 12 Lite is expected to run on Android 12 operating system.

Note that the price or the scheduled launch date of the Xiaomi 12 Lite is not yet known. Xiaomi has only confirmed that the 12 Lite will not be launched in China, but the company has not said anything about a global launch. More information about this phone is expected to come in the coming days.
